Most website crawlers were designed in a different era. They're desktop applications that consume your laptop's RAM, produce CSV exports that require hours of manual analysis, and stop at telling you what's wrong — without helping you plan what to do about it.

We built IATO because we believed the crawl-to-plan workflow deserved a modern rethink.

What IATO is

IATO is a cloud-based platform that combines three capabilities that have traditionally required separate tools: website crawling and technical SEO auditing, visual sitemap editing with drag-and-drop restructuring, and AI-powered content analysis and governance.

You start by crawling a website. IATO processes up to 250,000 pages with JavaScript rendering capability, capturing every URL, title, heading, internal link, status code, and content metric. The crawl runs in the cloud — start it and close your browser. It keeps running.

From there, the results flow into an interactive visual sitemap editor. You can see your site's entire information architecture as a node graph, identify structural problems like orphaned pages or deeply nested content, and restructure the sitemap with drag-and-drop or plain-language AI commands.

When you're done planning, IATO exports redirect maps, content inventories, and restructured sitemaps ready for your development team.

Why we built it

The SEO industry has a tool fragmentation problem. Agencies routinely juggle a desktop crawler for auditing, a diagramming tool for sitemap planning, spreadsheets for redirect mapping, and yet another tool for content inventory. Each one requires manual data transfer, and none of them talk to each other.

We wanted to collapse that workflow into a single platform where crawl data informs planning, planning produces actionable exports, and AI handles the tedious classification and restructuring work that used to take days.

What makes IATO different

Cloud-native from day one. No downloads, no Java dependencies, no RAM management. IATO runs entirely in the browser. Every crawl, sitemap, and audit result is stored in the cloud and accessible to your whole team.

AI Sitemap Assistant. Tell the AI to "flatten the blog hierarchy to two levels" or "merge the support and help sections into a single /help directory." It restructures the sitemap, explains its reasoning, and lets you refine the result. This is not a chatbot bolted onto a crawler — it's a deeply integrated planning tool that understands your site's structure.

AI Taxonomy Builder. A five-phase wizard that analyzes your crawled content and proposes a classification structure. Review it, refine it, and apply it to organize hundreds or thousands of pages into a coherent taxonomy.

Full developer platform. IATO exposes 440+ REST API endpoints, a TypeScript SDK published on npm, and a 105-tool MCP server that lets AI agents like Claude interact with your crawl data autonomously. If you can describe it, you can automate it.

Free tier. 500 pages per crawl, 5 crawls per month, full API access, AI sitemap assistant included. No credit card required. We believe the best way to prove a tool's value is to let people use it.

Who it's for

IATO is designed for four primary audiences. SEO professionals who need cloud-based auditing with AI-powered analysis. Content strategists who need to inventory, classify, and restructure large content libraries. Web agencies who need a shared workspace for client audits, visual deliverables, and team collaboration. And developers and AI engineers who need programmatic access to crawl data through APIs, SDKs, and MCP servers.

What's next

This is the beginning. We're actively developing scheduled crawl monitoring with webhook alerts, deeper Google Search Console integration, expanded AI capabilities for content gap analysis, and additional export formats for enterprise workflows.

We're building IATO in public and welcome feedback from the community. If you have ideas, questions, or feature requests, reach out at [email protected].
